Local Activities

The West Coast of Vancouver Island is one of the most pristine, yet accessible wilderness areas to be found anywhere in the world. Explore ancient forests, mountain streams, tide pools, and breathtaking scenery. Hiking trails range from easy French Beach to moderate East Sooke Regional Park to true wilderness terrain Juan de Fuca Provincial Park.

Bike or walk on the famous Galloping Goose Trail, which goes all the way from Victoria to the site of Sooke’s gold rush days near the Sooke Potholes. Get out on the ocean with a guided eco-tourism expedition: whale-watching or kayaking.

If golf is your preference, there are several terrific courses nearby, including Bear Mountain, and Olympic View. Sometimes you just want to be pampered, and that could mean a visit to Le Sooke Spa or the Sooke Wellness Centre.

This is a place to truly enjoy life’s many gifts, in whatever ways you wish. We used to travel a lot, but now we stay home because there is so much to explore right here!

Excellent accommodation, beautifully and thoughtfully furnished. Owners very nice, suite offers a lot of privacy to unwind and enjoy beautiful scenic views. Very clean, quiet and comfortable. Close to Victoria, Butchart Gardens, and wonderful hiking trails. Highly recommend.
